Whilst there are some regions of the world which are forever associated with wine making, England is a relative newcomer to the world of modern wine production. People are still surprised to learn that the UK is home to more than 400 vineyards dotted across England and Wales, however English wine is growing in popularity amongst those in the know. From the selection of the grapes, through the process of nurturing their growth to bottling and selling the wine itself, there is plenty to learn about the way wine is produced in this country. You can ask questions, see some of the elements of the process yourself and sample the finished product with pointers from the experts. There are a number of vineyards to choose from across the country and you might be surprised to find one right on your doorstep. You may even find a new favourite tipple, in which case you could become the newest supporter of the English wine industry.
